Step 1 – Check if the LastPass Extension is Installed
- Open Google Chrome.
- Click the Extensions button (puzzle piece icon) in the top-right corner.
- Look for LastPass in the list.
If you can see LastPass
Continue to Step 2.
If you cannot see LastPass
- Visit the Chrome Web Store:
https://chromewebstore.google.com/ - Search for LastPass Password Manager.
- Click Add to Chrome.
- Once installed, continue to Step 2.
Step 2 – Pin the Extension
If LastPass is installed but you cannot see it:
- Click the Extensions (puzzle) icon.
- Find LastPass.
- Click the Pin icon.
The LastPass icon should now appear beside the address bar.
Step 3 – Sign In
- Click the LastPass icon.
- Enter your work email address.
- Enter your Master Password.
- Complete Multi-Factor Authentication (if prompted).
Once signed in, your saved passwords should become available.
Step 4 – Restart Google Chrome
Sometimes Chrome simply needs restarting.
- Close all Chrome windows.
- Re-open Google Chrome.
- Check if LastPass is now working.
Step 5 – Update Google Chrome
Older versions of Chrome can cause extension issues.
- Click the three dots in the top-right corner.
- Select Help.
- Select About Google Chrome.
- Allow Chrome to install any available updates.
- Restart Chrome.
Step 6 – Check Whether the Extension is Disabled
- Type the following into Chrome:
chrome://extensions- Press Enter.
- Find LastPass Password Manager.
- Ensure the switch is turned On.
If it is off, turn it back on.
Step 7 – Restart Your Computer
If LastPass still isn't working:
- Save your work.
- Restart your computer.
- Open Chrome again.
- Try signing into LastPass.

- A brief description of what is happening
- Whether the issue started today or has been occurring for some time
